D turned 40 at the beginning of the month and instead of an intimate gathering at home, I planned a trip to Mexico. Yes, during a “pandemic” we got on a plane. Taking the recommendation of my sister we traveled to Quintana Roo, Playa del Carmen for six days. The mini-vacation was the perfect timing to decompress from the CV19 restrictions stateside and the cold weather of the northeast.
I found a two-bedroom, three-bathroom condo in the Palmares Condo Living building which fit us comfortably. The building’s atrium surrounded pool was like a tropical oasis for the kids to frolic and enjoy. The condo had all the furnishings and appliances of a traditional apartment-having a washer and dryer was awesome.
We visited Akumal Beach to swim with the sea turtles. Then off to Tulum to explore the ruins and National Park.
Next national park
The food was not so pleasing but the ambience and the warm weather made up for it. While there I decided to make it a “business trip” and produce a styled shoot. I packed two of my Petite Seats and collaborated with a dynamic husband and wife team to create a faux 8th birthday celebration for CC. Check out several of my favorite images from the shoot.
We enjoyed Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. Definitely a child friendly trip with lots to keep everyone entertained.
